Its location, quick service and friendly staff are the selling points for this place. As while the name 'Savouries' does aptly describe the food, the words 'satisfying' and 'scrumptious' don't, unfortunately. Because this little place is only a stone's throw away from my work and Manchester's Arndale Centre. On first bite, my £2.80 brie, bacon and cranberry sandwich was rather 'meh', and continue to be a disappointment. The brie was too hard and bland for my liking - I like it to melt over the bread and have flavour, any flavour to be honest. The bacon managed to be both thick and dry at the same time - a culinary feat! And the cranberry sauce was the colour and taste of no cranberry I have ever seen or eaten. All of which was sandwiched between dry, flavourless bread. Leaving me parched and desperate for a bit of rocket, just to taste something, anything! Safe to say, I won't be going back to Savouries again.
