About

This Indian restaurant in Spinningfields takes inspiration from Bombay’s old Irani cafés. It serves dishes like butter chicken (Chicken Ruby), dal makhani and mattar paneer, with chai available in the waiting area. The menu includes spiced dishes from starters to desserts. Since opening as the first Dishoom in Northern England, it has become known for its multi-level space and Bombay-inspired interiors.

Looks smaller than it is. Once inside it extends to multiple rooms and.floors. Great decorations nice atmosphere and great food. I've seen bigger selections on menus but it was sufficient, plenty of choice.Staff were very friendly and gave an excellent service and advice. We wre a large party of 14 and.they accommodated us. Definitely book as it gets busy, people were queuing outside and as it was raining they were given umbrella s. The toilets were down several flights of stairs and I'm not sure about disabled access. Nice food and atmosphere, recommend.

We visited Dishoom for the first time on a date night, and it was such a lovely experience. The restaurant itself is beautifully styled a little on the darker side, but the interior design is stunning and creates a really cosy atmosphere. I don’t usually eat Indian food as I’m always worried it might be too spicy, but I was pleasantly surprised. Everything we had was very mild, full of flavour, and served in generous portions. The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. When we first sat down, we felt a bit overwhelmed by the size of the menu, but our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to us, which made choosing so much easier. For starters, we had the veggie samosas, which were delicious. We then shared a Chicken Kathi Roll a big portion and full of flavour. For my main, I had the Murgh Malai, which was not spicy at all and paired perfectly with a garlic naan and yogurt sauces. It was absolutely delicious and easily my favourite dish of the night. My partner had the Chicken Berry Britannia and loved it just as much. Big up to sunny’s star-tini. The portions were so generous that we didn’t have room for dessert, but we’ll definitely be back to try more because we had such a wonderful time and the food was outstanding. This was genuinely the first time in my life that I’ve truly enjoyed Indian food! I don’t remember the name of our waiter, but he made our first visit even more special with his kindness and helpfulness. Highly recommend, and we can’t wait to return.
