The Cliff is a historic football training ground in Salford, best known as Manchester United’s original training facility before the move to Carrington. It hosts training sessions for young players, often organised by the Manchester United Foundation, where coaches teach skills and the club’s philosophy. The Cliff remains a place where aspiring footballers can train on the same grounds as some of the sport’s greatest names.

We had the privilege of visiting this iconic Manchester United training facility for an Academy match. the original ManU training ground before Carrington was opened in 1999, many club legends have played and trained here over the years. The car park is small so would recommend getting there early, there is an indoor 3g pitch and a grass outdoor training pitch. Inside the 'dome' there is a viewing balcony with seating, toilets and a cafe which provided free drinks and biscuits as well of lunch for the players. There are many iconic photos around the walls, the staff were very attentive and helpful.
A place full of history and dreams. As a United fan, it is a privilege to watch my youngest have the opportunity to train where legends have.
