About
A car rental agency that operates online, Rentalcars.com connects customers with third-party rental providers in various locations. The platform allows users to book vehicles in advance, with options for full insurance coverage. Some rentals require deposits or additional payments at pickup. Bookings are made through the website, with confirmation details sent via email. Customers receive invoices for prepaid rentals, though vehicle specifications may vary from what was initially reserved. The service handles rentals across multiple countries, including Italy, Portugal, and Poland.
Customer Reviews
I booked a 2-day rental in Geneva through Rentalcars.com and was given a pickup at “Route de Colovrex 70”, presented as a normal staffed Enterprise station. Nobody from Rentalcars told me anything about issues with this location. I had a gut feeling something was wrong with the delivery address, so I contacted Enterprise myself before my 7am pickup. They confirmed in writing this was only a virtual delivery station and my reservation was incomplete/invalid without a delivery address. Despite this, Rentalcars’ agent Aya had reassured me in chat that there was an office there and I could collect the car normally. Because of their error, Enterprise changed my booking to Geneva Airport and charged 44.81 CHF in airport fees. Agent Calista told me to pay at counter and call for refund, but later “customer relations” Dimitra claimed it was for early/late timing (which the invoice clearly disproves). I’ve provided all emails, chats, and invoice showing airport fees. I’m still waiting, they keep saying they’re “waiting for commercial department” about Enterprise instructions. Their internal issues aren’t my problem: they sold me wrong location, gave false info, wasted my time. No money back, no fees refunded, no compensation for stress. Completely dishonest
I booked a prepaid rental car with Sicily By Car through Rentalcars.com (Booking ref. 615715664). The full payment was taken well in advance. When we arrived at Bergamo Airport within the official 2-hour grace period, I was told there were no cars available. No alternative or assistance was offered, and Rentalcars customer support was equally unhelpful. We were left without the car I had paid for, forced to rent from another company on the spot at a higher price and for fewer days. What followed was almost two months of exhausting correspondence with their support, who replied briefly and dismissively, without ever addressing the key facts. Despite providing clear evidence, they repeatedly denied responsibility. In the end, the only way I recovered my money was by filing a chargeback through my bank for non-delivery of service. This experience caused unnecessary stress, disrupted our vacation plans, and shows that even when you prepay, you may end up with financial, moral, and practical problems during your holiday. Strongly advise avoiding both Rentalcars and Sicily By Car.
Rentalcars.com acts like a scam company. They never try to help customers when issues arise, and their way of handling problems is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Here’s what happened: I originally reserved a rental car through Rentalcars.com for my trip to San Francisco in September. I later canceled that booking and made a new reservation the next day. However, I never received a confirmation email or booking number for the new reservation. When I arrived in San Francisco and went to the rental desk, the staff could only find the canceled booking. I assumed the new reservation hadn’t gone through, so I had to rent another car on-site. Later, I discovered that Rentalcars.com had still charged my credit card for the new booking. I contacted Rentalcars.com to request a refund, and here’s how they handled it: 1. Fast initial response – They replied quickly at first, so I thought my issue would be resolved soon. 2. Constantly changing representatives – Every time I replied, a new representative took over. Most of them didn’t understand that my claim involved two reservations, so I had to repeat the entire story again and again. Just when one rep finally understood my situation, a new one would respond as if they were seeing my case for the first time. 3. Disappearing after “investigation” – Whenever they said they were “investigating,” I would never hear back from them again. I realized that “investigating” actually means they’ll disappear and never follow up. This also happened three times. In conclusion, Rentalcars.com provides one of the worst customer service experiences imaginable. They treat customers like fools and make no effort to resolve legitimate issues. I strongly believe this company operates in a deceptive way. Avoid this company at all costs.
