Amazing pub with local vibe, great service, and I really enjoyed the open mic night except the host.. bloody hell he needs to take a break, stealing the thunder from the local acts and being a weirdo pretending to know the words and get the crowd hyped. I was HYPED for the music, but he gave me the ick.. cokey dude needs to take a break and let the artists speak for themselves.
DO NOT BOOK THIS AS A VENUE!! Shocking customer service. Lydia, the supposed “events AND bookings/overall manager” has zero customer service skills and is evidently unable to tell the time, replies to emails weeks later and repeatedly leaves you stood outside waiting for a viewing despite confirming times and dates. Was quick to refund a deposit however so the 1 star is for that!! I would strongly advise a hospitality staff training programme asap!
My son performed here 26/11/2025 - the host of the event was an absolute (Scottish) legend, the other acts were really good. The bar staff (particularly one barman whose name I can't remember but he also performed) were all excellent. Can't recommend this place enough for a good drink, with excellent atmosphere, but definitely look out for their live music nights.
