We came here with our dog for lunch. We were immediately greeted by a guy who I assume was the manager. We were offered tables away from another dog because mine's quite big. My dog is fine so he gave us a lovely table in the dog zone. The food was nice, what you expect, it does what you expect. The guest experience is more important and they were wonderful. I'd definitely go back. Well done!

As locals we regularly visit the pub, this evening we visited with our Boston Terrier, excited to try the new menu. We also noticed they had a new offer, 30% off food on Mondays - we also realised this was for pre-booked dinners. Although we had pre booked we were early, as there were seats in the bar area this didn't appear to be a problem. After checking with the bar man - he didn't even seem concerned whether we were pre booked, but said he needed a manager fob to authorise the discount. We opted to put our two starters and two mains, plus drinks (on a tab) after being told the discount would be honoured. I heard the conversation between bar man and manager - just after the order was place - no one came to inform us of any issues, so I was under the impression there would be no issues.|...as we left I went to pay with the bill, £67.50. I checked whether the discount was applied and was told no - which a face of much satisfaction from the manager. When I challenged, he used the 'you haven't pre booked' I mentioned the bar man told us this wouldn't be a problem and no one had told us otherwise...to which I got a response of... 'the offer requires you to pre book'|After visiting the pub a number of times, we've often commented on this managers 'strange' approach, but have never held a conversation before. He definitely doesn't give good service, nor provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Although the barman was lovely, he shouldn't promise to honour an offer and then not honour without prior warning - we would have cancelled our food had we known or been given the option.|| I'm not sure whether the lovely dog loving landlady is still there...warm friendly and always feeds our dog treats...is still. If not I can see why standards, staff and service have slipped....she ran a tight ship!!||Such a short sighted attitude especially when hospitality is under so much squeeze, after being loyal customers for four years.... we won't be back.

I visited this pub restaurant nr the airport whilst staying overnight elsewhere ready for an early flight the next day. Having not stayed here, I have not rated the rooms. I booked on line and was given a January offer for online bookings of 30% off food. Very nice indeed. The meal was fine albeit my 6oz Gammon looked very small once cooked. But my wife and I enjoyed our food and drinks in a nice affable atmosphere and all was good.!
