Customer Reviews
Delicious, vibrant Thai and Asian flavours that truly stand out. I have one of the most sensitive stomachs imaginable, along with several allergies, so finding a place I can trust is no small task. Over the last 11 months of travelling to Cumberland every week, I’ve tried numerous restaurants in Carlisle — none of which fully met my needs. Then I found this one, and it immediately became my go‑to. The reasons are plenty: the staff are warm and welcoming, the restaurant is spotless, and the atmosphere is lovely whether you visit during the day or in the evening. But the real star is the food. It’s on a completely different level and has been consistently excellent throughout the entire year. The crispy pork belly with hoisin sauce, pad Thai, spring rolls, and Tom Yum soup are all exceptional — genuinely dishes you’ll crave again. If you’re ever in Carlisle, do yourself a favour and check them out. The flavours are authentic, the presentation is beautiful, and the quality is outstanding. Prices are fair for what you get, and they offer various daytime deals that are well worth taking advantage of. My only tiny disappointment is that they’re closed on Mondays — but honestly, everyone deserves a day off
The atmosphere, service and food at Royal Outpost are all top notch! I was visiting Carlisle for a project and happened across this treasure. My prawn and pork belly starter (yes I ordered two don’t judge me) was delicious and decadent, and the beef so tender and wholesome with spice and flavour. If you are visiting Carlisle, make this your stop. If you’re not, it’s worth the trip!
Lovely Thai restaurant with friendly staff. Booked last min as was passing through and was impressed with the quality of food. Pad Thai and the fire cracker chicken were both really nice. Parking is a little difficult as you have to park at the lane at the side of the restaurant. Will definitely go back when in the area. Some good offers on during the week of 2 main courses for £30.
