Fantastic find!! The atmosphere is casual but chic with atmospheric lighting and clean unfussy decor. Service was super friendly but unobtrusive. The food?! Oh my gosh, the food! Simple, delicious and reasonably priced. The Spätzle with butter and sage was the stand out dish closely followed by the sauerkraut (sweet and crunchy) and pierogi. Great cocktails too - if you don't have a sweet tooth try the Umeshu spritz. Now I'm trying to find an excuse to go back to Manchester so I can try the Bigos! Thanks team Sparrows for a fantastic lunch!

The trout was outstanding — delicately tender with well-balanced seasoning that brought out its natural flavour. The pastas were ok; I tried both the spätzle and the pappardelle. The sauces lacked distinct character but weren’t bad overall. The spätzle, funnily enough, tasted a bit like softened udon. The Russian dumplings had a nice chew but could have used a bolder flavour. The tiramisu stood out with its rich coffee and liqueur notes — satisfying depth without being overly sweet. 😊

A lovely spot and I can see why it is popular. The service was spot on and the ambience is subdued lighting but full of energy. The menu was very interesting and the spatzle we so moreish. Ravioli spinach was fresh and flavoursome. The cheese fondue was delightful but could have done with a bit more content. Bit pricey for what it is but I'd go for a special occasion.
