An honest review. Not an option for 0 stars. Had an eye test on the 31st July 2025. Ordered glasses that day. Told by Ken would be around a week, the following Friday rang them told could be seven or ten days. Ken rang me the following Tuesday to say lost by a courier. At lab and would be done as urgent and would be here by the end of last week. Ken rang me yesterday and told me would be in today. After hearing nothing, I rang, after a short while after speaking to a female worker. Told they were there my glasses and would need to be quality checked and lenses to be put in, so I said so the lenses aren't in ? Yes she replied. I went today at around 430pm. Glasses ordered on the 31st July, it's now the 19th August. The male and female need retrained in customer service. The male, not Ken had the cheek to tell me don't shout over the top of him and to sit down. I am incredibly annoyed and upset I have been left waiting for glasses and today's story is they failed the quality check and the lense was broken. I wasn't shown the glasses! I opted for a refund for the part cost I paid for my glasses. I have been left waiting and suffering bad heads. My advice avoid here, they have now lost a long standing customer. David would be horrified the way the opticians is now. Customer service is key. Strangely enough the lady on the desk was also telling someone else on the phone there was a delay with their order too. To the two directors chose another courier and lens provider and please retrain the male and female in today how to handle upset customers. I was not shouting. A lot of stress and upset caused. A very poor experience. A significant discount was 20 percent off! I am now three weeks down the line of ordering and no glasses with the new prescription, which is totally unacceptable! I was patient enough, I am not going to leave you to sort for a third time. A very poor service from the male and female that were in on Tuesday. How dare he accuse me of shouting over him. You would also be upset over the extremely poor service given.
My experience at D and D McWilliams was second to none. My optician completed a very thorough eye test and was diligent polite and made me feel very comfortable. The practice as a whole is finished to a high standard and the staff are very welcoming. I would recommend this practice to anyone and have since had my dad in for his eye test and he too was impressed with the level of competence of staff and how well looked after he felt.
Great service! Staff were really warm and friendly and helped me find the perfect pair of glasses to fit my face, I’m really pleased with them. Will definitely return!
