Cranstons on Fisher Street is hands down one of my favourite butchers! The quality of their meat is outstanding—always fresh, well-sourced, and expertly prepared. I picked up some of the insane sized Cumberland sausage. They are great. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to offer recommendations or prepare cuts to your liking. Their customer service is a cut above the rest (pun intended!). If you’re looking for premium, locally sourced meat with excellent service, Cranstons is the place to go.
Went in for a Sausage sandwich from the Hot Counter. No member of staff looked at me or said anything - just avoided eye contact. So left after standing around for 8 minutes. Very poor.
Not a family butchers as such or as advertised or at least as old school butchers used to be. Turned up and asked for a beef skirt cut to be told by the seller "you can pre order that but we can't do that today as we don't see any carcasses, the factory does all our cuts and sends them for us" we said "so you just sell what you are sent from a factory then?" He replied with "yes I can order you that cut for a couple of days time though". Needless to say we walked out without spending a penny
