New Seasons

Terrible experience in this shop, staff are very unpleasant. Don’t normally review shops but felt I really had to on this occasion. Never felt so disgusted in how I was spoken to and looked at than in this shop. Quite honestly totally knocked the edge off an otherwise lovely day in Carlisle where in every other shop I went into the people were so nice, cheerful and chatty. Not however in this shop. Will not be returning.

I am not one to normally post like this but I feel like it needs to be done as I have never so embarrassed in my life and was left physically shaking. I was shopping in the lanes in Carlisle today and went into new seasons crafts and gifts. After leaving and walking to another shop, I had a member of staff run up behind me and go straight in my bag before she even came face to face with me. She began moving all of my shopping about the bag without consent. When asked who she was and what she was doing she said “I’ve been told you put something in you’re bag” She continued to search me still not telling me who she was or where she was from and still had not asked permission to search me. When she realised I had in fact not taken anything from the shop she said “oh no you’ve not” and ran back to her shop. Leaving me shaking and a group of people around me just staring at me. She was very vocal about the fact she thought I’d stolen from them but didn’t make it clear to those around me that I hadn’t and she’d made a mistake. Safe to say they will not be getting my custom and I would advise others the same unless you want to run the risk of being forcefully searched especially when you have not consented, been told what is happening, why or by who.

Such a beautiful shop but the staff member is rude, aggressive & obviously gets off in installing shock & fear into customers! Wouldn't set foot in this place!
