Tullie - Museum & Gallery
Opening Hours
About
A museum and gallery in Carlisle’s Castle Quarter, Tullie combines local history with natural history, including Roman artefacts linked to Hadrian’s Wall and a dinosaur exhibition. The space also features Pre-Raphaelite artworks and rotating temporary displays. There’s a café serving scones and tea, alongside a garden area. Annual passes are available for those wanting to revisit the collections.
Customer Reviews
We chose Tullie House as the venue for our small wedding celebration, and it truly turned out to be the best decision we could have made! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special and memorable place with a wonderful backdrop for unique retro‑style photos. Our room had private access to the garden, which gave the whole day such a cosy, intimate feeling of hosting our guests in our very own beautiful “castle.” A huge thank you to Annie, our event manager. She was absolutely fantastic — attentive, organised, and genuinely dedicated. She spent so much time with us going through every little detail, helping with supplier contacts, and even assisting with room decorations. Her support made everything run smoothly and allowed us to fully enjoy our day. Thank you, Tullie team!
This place and has such a nice vibe. The people are eeally friendly and welcoming. The interioirs are great, especially with all the new renovations and additions to the Gallery, it is one of the hidden gems tucked away in Carlisle. I got the opportunity to work with the Gallery and Museum over a weekend and it was a brilliant experience. The cafe and other facilities are good. A nice place to come alone, with friends, or with family.
Excellent museum, the dinosaur exibit very well laid out and informative. Plenty of space inside for wheelchairs users. Recommend to buy the annual pass as there is loads to see.
