About
A bakery in Manchester’s Chinatown, this spot is known for its freshly baked Asian-inspired pastries and breads. Among its selection are croissants, pineapple buns, and char siu buns, often sought after early in the day. The menu also features items like egg tarts, taro buns, and Korean mochi bread, alongside savoury options such as fried curry chicken buns and meat floss seaweed rolls. Honey toast and salty egg pastries are also available. The bakery operates from a slightly tucked-away location, with a focus on in-house baking. Its range of sweet and savoury baked goods has made it a go-to for those exploring Asian bakery staples.
Customer Reviews
There are so many varieties of buns/pastries. The most popular ones like the croissants are taken early, so you need to be there when it opens. The price is decent for the size of the buns/pastries. Taste wise, we had the strawberry croissant and the chocolate croissant, which were delicious. The strawberry cream was not too thick and oily, and the strawberries were fresh and sweet. It was so nice that we went back the next day to get more buns and bread. A small seating area is also available too if you want to get a drink and eat the buns/pastries there.
Great bakery in Chinatown - it quickly has become my favorite Asian bakery here. Has a good selection of breads - my tops are the croissant tarts and the char sui pineapple bun. It is down a flight of slightly steep stairs, but there is a small elevator as well. There’s a handful of tables/chairs if you want to eat in. They also take card (min £5) which is super helpful!
This is a great place to visit - especially if you’ve never been to a Chinese bakery before. I was really impressed by the quality of the food, which is reasonably priced for a bakery. If you’re unsure what to try, go for the char siu pork roll and an egg tart - both were warm, fresh, and tasted amazing. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and there’s a good variety of drinks available. They accept debit cards (always handy), and the seating area is clean and well presented.
