About
A traditional pub with a pool room, dartboard and TVs throughout. Home-cooked food is served alongside pints in this dog-friendly local. The space has been recently redecorated while maintaining its classic pub feel. There’s an outdoor seating area, and the toilets are kept clean. The staff engage with customers in a chatty manner. The venue has undergone several refreshes under new ownership but retains its longstanding role as a place for casual drinks and catch-ups.
Customer Reviews
The new owners have done an amazing job turning this place around. The atmosphere is back to what you expect from ye old local pub. The redecorating is a nice touch. The service is friendly and efficient. Families are more than welcome, so don't hesitate to bring your kids. Their cleaning staff must do an amazing job because the place is clean and welcoming. There is plenty of parking spaces available.
Visited this pub last weekend with a friend. We first drank here 40+ years ago and we were interested to see how it had changed. The Museum has had a number of 'new starts' over the past few years and I believe it has again been newly taken over. The last time I visited here (about a year ago) the beer selection and its kept condition was terrible, the staff were uninterested, uncommunicative and lazy and the clientele were mainly groups of young, 'boisterous' men, who in fairness, were friendly enough. I was NOT looking forward to a return visit. However, this time I'm pleased it was markedly different. Staff were friendly and polite and I believe were genuinely interested in providing a good service - which they did. The patrons seemed to be drawn from a wider age range and demographic - couples and larger mixed groups. Beer-wise it still has a pretty poor and uninspiring selection of ales. There is John Smiths and a Speckled Hen and some Lagers. But these were much better kept and sold at a reasonable price. For a Saturday night it was not exceptionally busy, but busy enough to give it a convivial atmosphere. Unsure about the food, - if they serve it, or its quality - as we were not there to eat. After such a positive experience I would be inclined to go back to the pub, something I have not been able to say for a number of years.
Great place for a pint and catch up, pool and darts if you fancy. Good old skool boozer. Great.....
