Customer Reviews
This might be the smallest performing arts company in Carlisle but it is by far the best. Wendy & Jack have created a fabulous facility for singing ,dancing AND acting, complete with its own cosy green room and tuck shop. Before my child joined Rocket Theatre group, we went to one of the large franchise performing arts companies, whose main shows tend to focus on singing and dancing not so much the acting. My child was lost as we did not have the funds to pay for all the extras, and it definitely felt like "pay to play" if your child wanted a role on stage and my daughter did, as she IS an actress. I love this Rocket Theatre because EVERYONE gets a chance to perform on stage - there are no favourites. You pay one price and that INCLUDES uniform. Instead of being asked to pay for extra rehearsals stage costumes etc etc, they run fund raising events which give the kids more opportunities to perform, and the main roles can be shared more fairly. There are extra singing and dancing and holiday clubs if you want them, we chose to do extra singing as my daughter wanted to strengthen her singing and they were really helpful; but there is no pressure to do this if you don't want to. Rocket Theatre also put on amazing full length professional shows that include acting, as well as the singing and dancing, and I know Wendy and Jack must spend a lot of time picking the right show to help show off the children's talents. There really is something for everyone at Rocket, and I can't recommend them enough as they support each child in their own need; whether they are there for fun, to develop confidence, make new friends or to develop their performing art skills. I would give them 10 stars if I could - Thank you Wendy and Jack you have created something very special here at Rocket Theatre Group.
Rocket Theatre Group has been such a special place for our family. Both of my girls attend, and from the moment they walked through the door they felt welcomed, valued and completely themselves. The team are incredible, striking that rare balance of being nurturing and supportive while also holding genuinely high standards of performing skills. The teaching is exceptional, clear, professional and inspiring, and the children are challenged in all the right ways to grow, improve and find their own voices. As professional performers ourselves, it was really important to us to find a place that matched our ethos. Rockets encourages growth and excellence without pressure, competition or ego. Children are supported to develop as performers at their own pace, in an environment that feels healthy, positive and joyful. The standard of performances speaks for itself. The shows are polished, confident and full of heart, with wonderful storytelling and stagecraft. It’s obvious how much care, experience and expertise goes into both the training and the productions. What we love most is that Rocket isn’t just about putting on a show, it’s about building people. Rocket helps children find their voice both on stage and off, supporting them to feel confident in who they are. Our girls have grown massively not only as performers, but as confident, kind humans, and they feel proud of themselves every time they’re there. Rocket Theatre Group is something really special, and we honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough. My only complaint… I just wish they did a grown-ups class, because I’d be first in the queue!!!!!!
Rocket has been truly great for my daughter. It's done wonders for her confidence, and she absolutely loves going. I deeply feel she has found her people there. The strong, positive relationships she's formed extend not only to the other students but also to the dedicated teachers
