I booked on booking .com I turned up the owner demanded £20 cash for me to stay I explained but she was adamant that she doesn’t use booking . Com Pay or go The place smelled and was dirty A guest was leaving as I arrived so I’m guessing she did same to him Like me he was a contractor!!! 9.00 on a Thursday night Booking .com will cancel but want a fee I have no choice to agree alternative is no money back I’m raging What a scam Booking .com don’t want to know just want me to agree to their admin fee…. Please avoid this woman she’s horrible rude n demanding!!!

Where do I start...||From the very moment I approached the property there was a bad feeling as the entrance isn’t very welcoming and the décor in the hallway is extremely dated. The welcome felt a bit disjointed as they didn’t seem to have a record of my booking, but once that was found I was shown to my room.||The poor décor continued up the stairs and just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I entered he bedroom which I think was last decorated in the 1970’s. From a cleanliness perspective, the bedding seemed clean enough but the bathroom looked as though it had last been cleaned a couple of weeks after the room was decorated (i.e. in the 1970s!!). ||The furniture in the bedroom was extremely old and worn and the general cleanliness in the room was poor. There was tea/coffee making facilities but the coffee on offer was a half full jar of Maxwell House!!||I didn’t dare risk have a shower as there was hair in the plug and I think I would have come out dirtier than before I stepped in there.||Noise wise, it’s on a main road and is very noisy. More could be done with the glazing to improve this and help you get a good nights sleep.||Overall, avoid this guest house!!!

Disgusting customer service. My car packed in 2 days before arriving. It was about 5 hours after the cancellation policy through booking.com and I was told to contact the hotel. The owner was so rude and disrespectful I couldn't belive what I was hearing. I was very calm, very polite and explained the situation. She then hung the phone up on me 3 times after being very rude and then proceeded to take the phone off the hook. I've always been told to treat others in the same manner as you wish to be treat yourself. She obviously was not taught this. There are so many hotels and B&B's in Carlisle and I will never attempt to stay here again and I hope that other people will do the same. Please do not get burned by this person/hotel. So so so bad customer service.
