I care about my vehicle. That's a fairly common feeling among car owners. I also care about safety and a big part of that is stopping distance. In view of this, I bought some nice Michelins and had my alloys refurbished. I booked my tyre fitting slot for 09:00 on the 11 May 2024 which by that time all alloys were in impeccable condition, just like like they had rolled off the production line. I arrived on time to my slot with my tyres and end up waiting for at least 10 minutes. When someone finally greeted me, they picked up all of my tyres and walked to a bay, where they threw the tyres on the ground. When you pay £600 for something, you tend to be fairly careful with it, especially if its someone else's property. In hindsight, I should have acknowledged the complete lack of respect however I chose to overlook this. After returning when the fitting was done, the car was waiting for me where I made quick payment and left. After stopping off at the shops, I had a closer inspection where I noticed that my front alloy had been damaged. You can understand my frustration when they had been refurbished the previous week and, as mentioned before, looked immaculate. I returned back to Denton Tyres to inform them that they had damaged my alloy and they would be in touch by Monday. To their credit, they did contact me and requested that they saw the damage in person. I showed up at around 11:00 on the 13 May 2024 where I spoke to Simon, the manager. He informed me that one of the technicians mentioned that there was damage to the alloy due to the paint chipping away. I was not informed of this and if I had been, I would have requested that the tyre would not be put on. He apologised for this, however after spending the last month sorting out my car, an apology simply wasn't good enough. Simon claimed they were 'old marks' and after informing him that I had to drive almost 300 miles the day after the damage, he quickly altered his argument. Simon and I discussed 'liability' and who would be responsible for the damage to the alloy. He told me that it should be taken up with the refurbishers as it was their poor paint job that resulted in the chipping. I disputed this and although I accepted that the paintwork may have not been performed properly, the alloy looked brand new with no chipping or any sort of indication that the paintwork was faulty or poorly done. Had I known this, I wouldn't have put my Michelin on that alloy. The damage occurred between arriving at Denton Tyres and subsequently leaving Denton Tyres therefore the liability lies with them. After going round in circles for about 10 minutes, I gave up as I already had to take time off work to try and sort this. I was hoping for an efficient and hassle-free experience however I received the entire opposite and received no appropriate redress for the damage caused. I would like to advise anyone who values their car, their time and their wallet not to use their service. Which is a shame. My family have used Denton Tyres for years however now will never be returning following this.

They ask you to book a time and then when you turn up at the appointment time they inform you that you'll have to wait over 2 hours. What's the point of appointment times.

An absolute cowboy outfit. A few months ago my wife went there and asked for a set of all season tyres. What she ended up with was some Chinesium unknown brand summer tyres. They also insisted the tracking needed doing. However a few× months later the garage has had to rectify the tracking because the inner 50mm of tread has worn down to the wire whilst the rest of the tread has hardly worn. Another new set of tyres now required! I don't know if they are scammers, incompetent or both....
