After witnessing a recent post on Facebook claiming ‘door always open’ I rocked up perfectly sober one evening with dressed like I was about to meet royalty—big mistake. The “bar” was an old workbench, and the drinks menu looked like something straight out of a dodgy tour of Germany in the forces—basically, whatever’s in the fridge and a shot that could strip paint. The bartender Sandy handed me a drink that hit harder than my first beer at Gutersloh while a shady Viagra deal went down in the corner! Between wobbly stools, and someone attempting a backflip off the bar, it was chaos—yet somehow, I felt like I’d been here a thousand times.
