I would thoroughly recommend this amazing adventure. The scenery in the white desert is amazing - sculpted sand dunes, salt pans, oases and the sunrises and sunsets are stunning. You have the chance to sleep out under the stars and enjoy a rare feeling of stillness and serenity. The guides are fantastic - hospitable, informative, entertaining. I really appreciated the fact that they were part of the group, we ate together, sang and danced together, played games round the campfire together. Christel puts so much effort into ensuring her guests have the chance to fully appreciate the desert and learn about Berber culture. It was a magical experience.
I stayed for one night for work and the room was perfect! It was very homey and comfortable, with some lovely touches, like the mini fridge in the room with milk sourced locally. Host Christel was so kind and welcoming, and her breakfast and company was a delight. She also makes phenomenal jam (I went home with three jars...) I highly recommend staying here for an overall wonderful experience! Thanks Christel!
We had an unforgettable experience in the white desert. |Immersed in the daily gentle rhythm of the desert. Waking with the sun, sleeping under shooting stars. Quiet mornings walking in the dunes, feeling the soft sand, sometimes following the camels alongside our three Berber guides, sometimes walking quietly alone atop the dunes. Until we stopped to make camp , and rest in the shade before lunch. Fresh fruit and delicious salads with freshly baked bread twice a day. How is that even possible in the desert, but our guides produced incredible meals every single day. Meals were spent listening to, talking , sharing with the group. The evenings were very special. After sunset , always seeking out the best view from atop a dunes, a simple wash before an evening of laughter and sharing round the campfire. I have very special memories which will stay with me forever. Christel organised every detail of this trip so we never once had to worry about anything. We were well prepared before we went and read and followed all her really helpful pre trip guidance. |We had a zoom call with the group pre trip which was great to answer all those questions we weren’t sure of. I felt completely safe in an environment I’d never experienced, and we’re going again!
