About
A small public park centred around the ruins of Penrith Castle, with well-kept gardens, flower beds and benches. Facilities include a bandstand, tennis courts, a bowling green and a playground. There’s a short avenue of trees, a South African War memorial and picnic tables. The park has a cafe and toilets, along with a crazy golf course. It sits just a short walk from the town centre, making it easily accessible for a stroll or casual visit. The castle ruins add historical interest to the green space.

lovely, well-kept small park next to the castle. There are some flower beds and benches at the back. There’s also a golf course and a playground, which is great for kids.
Beautiful park, currently undergoing some work. A few people a tad unsure of hanging around in the gatehouse smoking something which I would have felt uneasy about had I not been with my husband and dog and this hasn't been just the once we have experienced this kind if thing in the gateway building thing. Other than that though a lovely place to walk the dog and a decent park for the kids with plenty of space for a picnic. Even have a cafe although I've not yet seen it open
Nicely maintained small park with a South African War memorial, a short avenue of trees and a bandstand. The park is also home to the ruin of Penrith Castle, its namesake. It's conveniently located just a couple of minutes walk from the railway station. Unfortunately the castle wasn't it wasn't free of litter, sadly all too common in larger towns in the UK at the moment. Still worth a look if you're in the area.
