About
A small but busy railway station serving routes to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and London, with lifts providing access to all platforms. The waiting room has comfortable seating, and passengers can buy coffee and other drinks. Staff assist with ticketing and passenger needs, including late-night travellers. Limited parking is available nearby, though spaces are often occupied. Toilets are accessible on-site. Delays occasionally lead to crowded waiting areas, but the station remains a key transport link for the area.
Customer Reviews
My favourite train station. Easy to get too, not too big so you don't have to walk miles. Staff are lovely, thoughtful, caring and kind. Passenger assistance is probably one of the best. You can buy coffee & other drinks outside as you arrive from a small stall with friendly people. A adequate waiting room, recently refurbished toilets. Staff are always willing to help. Parking available to book online or on the day on site. Downside is the machine only takes card. Otherwise a brilliant train station.*****
Penrith is quite a busy station with trains to and from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester (inc. Manchester Airport) and London with many stops in between. Toilets are available and lifts enable easy access to platforms. Tickets can be purchased at the staffed ticket office. Buses arrive at the stop outside the station serving routes to many of the favourite destinations in Cumbria.
always helpful staff at the station, lift to all platforms if needed. Only problem is lack of parking, multi storey usually full and 12 long term parking slots out front are usually blocked by taxis or cars waiting to pick up and last time bluebell lane council car park was also full so be warned! (i do believe you can book sainsburys for long term which is not to bad a walk if fine!)
