The location is great. Although it is in a very specific part of the Lake District, the bus station is a few steps away from the hostel. I was there during an awful snow storm and managed to get there with little issues. I had the room to myself, but everyone I saw around the hostel was very nice and considerate. Breakfast was good, I only got the continental but seemed like more than enough (they had bread, cereals, porridge, and drinks). Staff was incredibly nice It was my first time coming to the Lake District, and staying at a hostel, and I would definitely do it again based on this experience. Thanks for everything!
Wonderful place to base yourself for any Lake District adventures. We had a 4 bedroom room, very spacious with its own sink, worked well for our family. Shared shower and toilet were very clean and nice. My only niggle was the comfort of the mattresses - I fully understand the economies of scale with an institution like YHA, but I never sleep the best on them. Other facilities were fantastic- such a good spot!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Grasmere Youth Hostel|I camped in my tent in the garden at Grasmere Youth Hostel and it was brilliant. The price was very reasonable, and it’s such a good option if you want the freedom of camping but still have all the facilities of the hostel close by.|After a big adventure in the hills, it was the perfect place to arrive – friendly, welcoming, and relaxed. The staff made me feel right at home. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and set me up well for another day of walking.|The location is fantastic too, right in the heart of the Lakes and with Grasmere village just a short stroll away. For anyone looking for a budget-friendly, comfortable and welcoming base, this hostel is spot on.
