Absolutely Stunning! We have been in John and Isobel’s Hayloft barn this weekend. From the moment we arrived we loved it! so cosy and quirky. everything we needed for a relaxed getaway for me and my partner. there is actually 6 singles and 1 double up on the mezzanine so we are already planning a return with our 4 kids. this place would be great for a group of hikers / friends etc. John has been brilliant and helpful, also sending me hiking routes and GPX files for ease. the pub is literally 8m directly facing. a lovely pub too with good selection of food menu. as regular lakes visitors and adventurers, ewe will definitely be frequenting the hayloft moving forwards. Best glamping experience ever. It has all the amenities but also retains the rustic charm of a country barn. It was dog friendly and had lots of space including 2 bathrooms both with showers. The kitchen was well equipped including a dishwasher, oven, fridge snd microwave. Lots of seating including 2 sofas and a dining table. upstairs is roomy with 6 single beds and a double separated by a screen and storage space. The outside was special with a BBQ, and seating with a rustic feel and undercover so even if it’s raining you can still enjoy outside dining. It also has a fire pit, grassed area and more seating. The property is enclosed so super safe for children and dogs to enjoy the outside space. There is a pub just a few yards away which serve delicious food and it also has an outside beer garden. It is located in the wonderful village of Caldbeck which is charming and has some wonderful local walks, a shop and a local cafe. It is also a great base to explore the lakes. We will definitely be returning.
Clean, cosy and has everything you could want or need. Hosts communication is excellent. Don’t have a bad word to say, we have loved staying here for two nights and couldn’t recommend the Hayloft more highly. Plus the village is nice, the store is great and the pub is fab.
