Customer Reviews
A great location, with all the facilities you need for some time away in the lakes. We booked the bunkhouse as a bit of an alternative stag do. For only 8 of us in the end, there was plenty of space, the beds were very comfortable, and the facilities had everything we needed. We enjoyed use of the BBQ, and sat around the fire pit drinking until the all hours. A great place to venture into the lakes also. ||Would highly recommend for a large group of friends, or family to enjoy some quality time together. We are already thinking about booking again. ||Phil and Rachel were superb also, dealing with the challenges of us having to move dates because of the pandemic, and answering any questions we had before we arrived.
We were a group of 20 and had an amazing time at the bunkhouse. We arrived to a super clean, well-stocked house with tonnes of kitchenware, a cosy lounge with a fire and comfy bunk beds with pillows provided, as well as ample shower and toilet facilities. The views from the bunkhouse were amazing, gorgeous hills in the distance. All the facilities worked perfectly, and we appreciated having 2 dishwashers as a big group! The Bunkhouse is in a great spot for hiking running and swimming, so much to do nearby. Communication was great and the experience with arrival and departure was all super easy. We had a fab weekend, will definitely be returning, thank you for having us!
We've stayed in a lot of huts as a big group before and more often than not there's something basic missing - not enough glasses, or seating, or too poorly heated. Things you'd think would be common sense! Felldyke was an excellent exception. The owners have clearly applied some thought and it had everything we needed, as well as some extra nice touches like that the tables could be folded up and moved out the way for when we wanted more space, and a whiteboard which can be helpful for when you're trying to heard cats. There was plenty of room, kitchen facilities, and five whole bathrooms! One bathroom is disabled facility friendly which is a thoughtful touch. Plus enough parking that we didn't have to worry about that which is always nice. It was a very icy week when we stayed and the heating worked well too. It's also in a good location - Keswick easily accessible by car, not in the main area of Lake District tourist madness, and a great little walk to a smaller lake up behind. The building itself was nice with big windows overlooking the fields. The outside space would be really good in the summer, they have a barbecue and picnic tables and grassy garden patch. Phil was quickly on the end of the phone when we were struggling with the gas fire and was straight over the next morning when we couldn't sort it ourselves - really nice guy. If I was looking for any sort of criticism, the showers are push button and only seemed to last 10 seconds 😂 But they were spacious and warm and good pressure so that's me searching for something. Overall - thoroughly impressed! (Photos are sunrise view and the lake ~15 minute walk away)
