The old part is amazing, you can even see rare red squirrels by the bridge, the monkey puzzle tree is awesome, the age and lack of uniformity give a deeply serious and ancient feeling to the beauty the groundskeepers strive for. Unfortunately theres a direction people are taking with headstones and adornments which is in very poor taste. At night, the solar lighting on headstones turns this into Las Vegas, which is in fact pretty creepy by itself. The amount of "things" planted, postitioned and adorning graves is just basically tat and litter that doesn't decompose. After people grow bored of tending to the graves, they just look terrible. Those flowers in their plastic displays dont age well and get blown into trees to make the place look like a tip. I think the first leopard print headstone will arrive soon. People need to get a grip and put their loved ones into perspective...people will die, way into the future, and the modern styles age poorly.
