Cockermouth Town Council
Opening Hours
About
The council oversees local governance and services in Cockermouth, a market town with historic charm in the Lake District. It manages public amenities and supports community initiatives, contributing to the town’s appeal as a quieter alternative to busier Lake District destinations. Parking availability is a noted concern for visitors, though the town itself retains a traditional character with independent shops and riverside walks. The council plays a role in maintaining the area’s heritage and facilitating events that draw both residents and tourists.
Customer Reviews
This is a special place for anyone who wants the charm of the Lake District, without the hassle of crowds. The down side is, we missed so much because we couldn't find long stay parking. We were willing to pay, but so concerned that we would be ticketed that we missed the antique shops and all Cockermouth has to offer. I plan to go back and make it my base. Love Cockermouth!
