About

GAME in Workington Town Centre is a toy and video game store stocking plushies, gaming merchandise, and a selection of video games. Staff are known for being helpful with recommendations based on interests. The store has shifted focus over time, now carrying fewer pre-owned games and PC components, with more emphasis on toys. Deals and promotions run periodically. It remains a go-to spot for gaming enthusiasts and collectors in the area.

Why even call it a Game store at this point? I used to go in there all the time. Then they got rid of pre-owned games, the point system and all of its staff, moved to the floor downstairs and got rid of half of it's inventory. This isn't Game anymore. This is just part of a Sports Direct that sells toys and video games.

Staff are always very friendly and willing to help out, I’ve had nothing but positive experiences in the store. Small space but always plenty to look at with the selection of plushies.

A shadow of its former self, ever since GAME's acquisition by Sports Direct it has only gone downhill, these days it is more of a toy shop, not a video game store and has very little video game stock, went in for a single controller and none were available. I think it's high time to say goodbye to the once great store, a true shame what greed is capable of, why Sports Direct purchased GAME to begin with remains a mystery. R.I.P GAME.
