About
A free car park near Workington’s shoreline with views across the sea and pebble beach. The spot is known for easy access to coastal walks along the beach or grassy banks, with a nearby pier for fishing. Visitors come to watch boats, spot fossils among industrial remnants, or see sunsets over the water. There’s space for picnics, and bins are provided for litter. The car park has both tarmac and rough stone sections, with no restrictions on overnight stays. Dog walkers and families often use the area, which connects to fields and hills with wider coastal views.

Fascinating beach, a real mix of industrial and nature, as you walk along the beach you will see where slag blocks have been used to under pin the cliff faces. There is rusting slag along side fossils, nature fighting back against man. Take a camera there are some great views.
Lovely place to spend a few hours, a nice walk on the beach or up the grass bank. Port on one side and pebble/sand beach on the other. Nice peer to walk on to, and even easily sea fish if you bring your rod. A big carpark and you can always get a parking space. Would highly recommend. I'm a frequent visitor and children love it!
Free parking which is very rare these days easy to find but unfortunately I came on a windy and rainy day so didn't do the walk.
