About
A sprawling secondhand bookshop with thirteen rooms of well-arranged shelves and stacks of used books across genres, from literature to local interest. The space holds an extensive collection of prints, maps, and books on the area, with stock regularly refreshed. Shelves stretch extensively, making it easy to browse for specific titles or stumble upon unexpected finds. The shop’s layout encourages leisurely exploration, with dedicated sections for different subjects and a mix of rare and common editions. Visitors often leave with full carrier bags, having spent hours combing through the vast selection.
Customer Reviews
Loads of books! 13 rooms of them and it isn't enough as there are many, many piles of books as well. Having said that, most of them are well arranged so it is relatively easy to find stuff that you might be interested in. Quite a lot of new (remaindered?) stock as well. If you like browsing bookshops then you can easily fritter away time here - a lot of time!
Not just loads of books but over a mile of shelves upon which some / most of them sit, an absolute treasure of a book shop I first visited in its previous location some decades ago, owned and staffed by the loveliest people! Thoroughly recommend.
An interesting space to spend an hour or two looking for books. I brought my children, we were all looking for different secondhand books that we collect. There were 13 rooms of bookshelves and we left with a carrier bag full for less than £25. Staff are friendly, There are so many books that some are still in boxes and bags on the floor. The non-fiction books on the shelves are arranged broadly by subject, the fiction books are not all arranged by genre. There are also maps and prints decorating some of the walls, copies of which are also for sale.
