About
JA Roofing is a roofing contractor in Whitehaven that handles roof repairs and installations, including work with roof tiles and chimneys. The business has been involved in projects requiring tradesman services for residential properties. Some customers have mentioned dealings regarding payment disputes and legal action over incomplete or unsatisfactory work. Roof repairs have been carried out in response to weather-related damage, such as issues caused by wind. The company has worked with pensioners on roofing jobs in the past.
Customer Reviews
Much like the other disappointed reviewers sharing their experience of JA Roofing, I also have been a victim of shoddy works carried out on the roof above my kitchen, which is now badly water damaged as a result. Time and time again Jordan has assured me that a vent would be replaced. I paid £704.28 for my share of a communal roof repair. None of my other neighbours are experiencing leaks, just me, the same leak I reported to Jordan before they even put the scaffolding up. Assurances and guarantees were made, 10/04/25 (Jordan) "Yes, I can confirm ALL leaks have be repaired to full roof. If any issues don't hesitate to contact us" which was very much appreciated at the time , but when it comes to broken promises from this company, I honestly have never experienced anything like it! I would encourage anyone who has experienced poor After-Care from this company to reach out to me i.e. Juan & Andreas. I am in the proceed of going through legal aid and following their steps, to hold this company to account. You can request a refund, and if the works aren't carried out within 14 days or money refunded, they have breached the law. It's just about going through the process at the moment, but no one should pay that kind of money for a repair and have no due consideration from the company that conducted it. They also shouldn't point fingers at the customer and blame them for their poor assessment of the roof in the first place! This is unfortunately the attitude of a lot of tradespeople, not all, but a lot, once they have the money they couldn't give a dot about customer service. I cannot explain the amount of upset and mental exhaustion this scenario is causing me. As I kept saying to them, please just do what you say you're going to do and fix the communal roof... Nearly a year now and still water coming in. Shocking resolution and communication, despite my best efforts to come to a compromise, i.e. not seek compensation for the interior damage to my kitchen, but even then another missed deadline. They've literally given me no choice but to seek legal aid, all I can say to those reading this is, don't put yourself in the same scenario, I now find myself in.
Paid for a job midway and has failed to complete it. Used second hand materials with most of our gear, ladders, fixings, etc and my pensioner husbands help! Promised appointments not kept. Messages, calls, texts now ignored. Please try and find someone trustworthy and pass on their details! Avoid Jordon or at least pay on completion.
I paid £2,200 to ja Roofing for a roof repair, and the work carried out was extremely poor. The repair did not fix the issue and, more concerning, the workmanship appeared unsafe and dangerous. Loose materials and badly fitted sections were left on the roof, creating a potential hazard. This is not just bad work — it raised serious safety concerns. When I contacted them to address these issues, there was no proper response or willingness to put things right. Paying £2200 for substandard and potentially dangerous work left me feeling completely misled. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.
