About
A stretch of coastline managed by the National Trust, with walking routes along grassy cliffs overlooking the sea. The area includes views of Whitehaven’s old harbour and remnants of its coal mining history, such as the Haig Pit museum. There’s a car park near the museum, with paths leading down to the town and towards a lighthouse. Some spots provide glimpses of the beach below. The sunset views are mentioned by visitors. The walk is mostly flat, suitable for families with children or dogs.

Parked at the National Trust car park by the Haig Pit museum at Whitehaven. Walked down into the town, passing the old harbour. Very interesting and well worth a visit
Amazing sea view with glassland, where people spend time with playing and walking with family, toddlers and pets.
It is a long way between the car park and the lighthouse. It’s not any place for eat or stay really.
