About
A traditional fish and chips takeaway, this spot serves classic British fare including fishcakes, chips, and accompaniments like gravy, curry sauce, and mushy peas. The fish is described as flavoursome, with chips noted for their crispness. Portions are generous, and the prices are considered reasonable. The menu also features items such as pies and sausages. The place operates with a small upstairs restaurant area where orders are delivered promptly. From time to time, there are regular deals on the menu. It’s a straightforward, no-frills chippie with a focus on traditional takeaway staples.
Customer Reviews
Tried The Fish Hut recently. The portion size was generous, but the fish itself was quite bland and the chips weren’t particularly good. That said, I’ve never been a big fan of traditional British chips, so this wasn’t a huge surprise. Service was alright. It feels very much like a local chippy catering to local tastes, but having had some really good fish and chips elsewhere, this one unfortunately didn’t stand out for me.
Absolutely disgusting burger that was raw and cold. Two men who work there are so rude, made us wait 20 mins for the burger meanwhile I ate my chips and then the man came over and said to me “wow you must have been hungry” in an aggressive tone. The burger was absolutely vile, uneatable. The chips are ok but nothing special. Not to mention they try and rip you off by charging you an extra 40 p for sauces. Joke of a chippy and will not be returning!!
Excellent small local chippie. No wait, ordered Sat upstairs in restaurant and food delivered shortly. Fresh chips nice and tasty fishcake. Very polite service and to be honest great prices.
