About
This Grade II-listed pub is a CAMRA Heritage site, celebrated for its unspoilt interior dating back to a 1925 renovation. Known as a classic example of a traditional pub, it serves Joseph Holt’s bitter and real ale on handpump. Its proximity to the bus station makes it a convenient stop for travellers. The tiled interior and old-fashioned charm have remained largely unchanged, preserving its historic character. Karaoke events occasionally take place, adding to the pub’s varied appeal. It’s a place where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a quiet pint or join in the occasional lively gathering.
Customer Reviews
Very good Joseph Holt pub about 20 minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly. Two cask beers on handpump when I visited. Fairly busy after the Spurs game at the Etihad. The pub is Grade II-listed with a nationally important historic interior and mottled tile frontage. Remodelled about 1925 the building dates back to about 1800. Split with a lobby in front of a bar, a lounge at the rear and vault at the front.
I’m giving this bar a full five stars because it truly deserves it! The atmosphere was amazing — classy, lively, and just the right vibe for a great night out. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the service was absolutely at its peak. Every drink was made to perfection, and you can tell they really care about quality. This bar easily stands out as the best in town, and I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
The pub is conveniently located right across from the bus station, making it the perfect spot to relax while you wait. The woman behind the bar was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the patrons were just as welcoming. A great atmosphere all around—highly recommended!
