Amazing experience with Smolensky Gallery! Joe is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and patient, he took the time to explain the history behind the artist, what influences the current art market, and how to spot the difference between authentic pieces and knock-offs. His integrity, attention to detail, and genuine passion for art really stand out. Overall, a great place with great people. I highly recommend Smolensky Gallery.

I recently purchased a Nick Smith print from Joe at Smolensky Gallery in Manchester. Living in London and not having visited the gallery before, I was initially a little hesitant about transacting remotely. I needn’t have worried as Joe was professional, fair, and exemplary throughout. He handled the print with exceptional care, was meticulous about its storage and provenance, and provided the full certificate of authenticity. His knowledge of the artist was impressive, but more importantly it’s clear he genuinely cares about both the art and the artists. The gallery itself is a delight - informative, welcoming, and with the art front and centre rather than the price tags. It’s a refreshing change from the London experience. And while the pieces on display in the gallery are impressive, they’re only a small fraction of what Joe has access to. Definitely check out the website as well as the depth and range of works available is remarkable, with modern and contemporary art to rival some of the big London galleries. It was also a pleasure meeting his father, another true gentleman. All in all, a first-class experience and a gallery I’ll absolutely return to. Highly recommended.

Joe (and the Smolensky Gallery) were just amazing to deal with. I bought a Jamie Reid (Pistols / Pretty Vacant) print. There are so many hooky ones for sale on eBay that I was happy to pay more to be sure that I had an authentic print. I not only had the letter / provenance from the original sale but also a “Smolensky validated” letter of authenticity. Joe was great to talk to as well. Jamie’s last exhibition was at his gallery so there so good stories and he also sent me a couple of bits of the special collage Jamie did, for what ended up being his last show. If I could give him / them six stars ****** I would. Thank you x
