Customer Reviews
We love Tom's just across the way and fancied a change so visited Sam's. We booked, thinking it would be busy...it was not. Mr H had fishcake to start - fully packed with fish, great portion size - then he had the beef burger for his main and I had the bacon chop. Both were really delicious, although Mr H said mine was the winner 🏆 I had a lovely glass of red wine whilst Mr H made this way through a few of the local beers. When we came out from the restaurant area, the bar was slightly fuller, which was nice to see. Staff were lovely and friendly and service was quick. We're returning in a few weeks and can't wait to see what we can try next.
My aim of this evening was to find some incredible English food that was high quality and had big flavours. I picked well! I enjoyed the lamb and harissa scotch egg, and finished with the beef hash. Thanks for the great service, and giving me a history lesson on the venue and food.
I met some colleagues here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. They serve JW Lees beers, I enjoyed a pint of the MPA (Manchester Pale Ale) which was well kept. The Barnsley chop was delicious and hearty. So much so that I ran out of room to finish the steamed lemon pudding. My colleague had an interesting take on Black Forest Gateau (which I didn't try). A great venue and I hope to visit again soon.
