Heard a lot of hype about this place so decided I'd try it. I ordered a parmo munch box as I'm from Teeside myself. I really enjoy parmos but this one had a spicy breadcrumb coating on it which wasn't in the description. I don't like spice so I didn't really enjoy this. The cheese and the béchamel was nice. The wings were really really good and the chips are really nice and crunchy but the coating on the Parmo really really let it down for me. I wouldn't go back as it was a high price point for a small portion and again the spice did ruin it for me. Edit: I asked for a lot of béchamel on the parmo itself and also on the chips with garlic but arrived only with small amount of béchamel on parmo, no garlic on chips and a small amount of béchamel on chips may aswell not bothered!
Overall underwhelming tbh, considering the prices. The good - unique cheeseburger parmesan and loaded fries also really nice Main disappointment was the toastie, at £13 I expected it to be amazing but it was just standard. Considering its more than grubfellas too whose toastie I did find amazing. The meat was actually minced too rather than steak pieces as we expected. Burgers were decent. Overall the food is solid but just seems overpriced for what it is. I will give them credit as we arrived later than we meant to but the food was still warm.
We were invited down to give The Scran Guys a try, it’s such a hidden gem tucked away on an industrial estate. You can order through delivery or collection. The menu is packed with guilty pleasures and everything we tried hit the spot. Top picks for us were the M.O.A.T (never had a toastie like this before!) and the chicken loaded tots, sooo many flavours!! I’d also recommend the parmo box with shrimp, it’s massive. The staff are friendly too (plus they give plenty of well needed napkins). Eating in your car here is part of the fun, definitely worth the drive.
