About
A historic live music venue that once operated as a nightclub, now hosting gigs with a mix of established and emerging acts. The balcony provides an elevated view, while the main floor has a bouncy, sprung surface that adds to the energy of performances. There’s a well-stocked bar with a range of drinks, and accessible seating has been trialled on the balcony for those who can manage stairs. The venue is known for its clean facilities, including spacious toilets, and has hosted acts like Alabama 3, Starsailor, and Theory of a Deadman. Nearby parking is available, though some lots are best avoided.
Customer Reviews
Perfect venue for being close to the music and that music was John Butler and the John Butler Trio supported by Noah Dillon. It was a fantastic evening with great music , relaxed vibes on a windy night in Manchester. The venue it's self is easy to access. Two bars, one downstairs to the left hand side of the room and one at the back of the balcony. There was early access for disabled punters and seats provided up on the balcony for them. Great staff , very friendly and efficient.
Nice medium size venue. Good sound. Decent range of alcohol in the bar. This venue have a top balcony. Clean, big, mans toilets, which is rare in that type of venue. Three large parking in the neighborhood.
UPDATE venue added seats as a trial for disabled guests who could manage the stairs. These where place on balcony next to bar area, easier access to the bar and toilets, and seats more comfortable than the bar stools they have. On the downside to this the claim of better views of the stage was not as expected, the view from this balcony was central for most but easily restricted view from those standing on main balcony, as for taking photos or some short videos, you had to raise your arms or stand which defeats the point of the seats, I personally found the sound to be less immersive also, it feels like your no longer included in the concert by being segregated at the back, from personal experience this is not new to many venues when dealing with disabilities always seems like an afterthought. I'm not slating the attempts of this venue for trying something new, but maybe ask those who use the space how to make things better. So my pennies worth, the seat way better and more comfortable, but anchored together makes it feel restricted no movement for comfort position, had plenty of space for additional seats of similar kind, improve by placing closer to balcony rail. Ideally on main balcony as this would allow those seating and standing to maximise views. Oh one extra point toilets are some of the dirtiest in any venues I have been, shame as it's always a good night seeing different lives bands. Live music venue Manchester. Venue is mostly standing with a few limited seats for disabled guests, two tiered with ground floor and balcony area upstairs, multiple bars for drinks. Payment via card only, which is a little restricted if you prefer cash. Selection of good live bands which gives a good view and great vibe. As a small venue it allows you to feel like your up close and personal with the bands. Price can vary and tickets for many events can be purchased on the night. Toilets are a bit small at the upstairs bar's and was dirty very quickly on my visit. No parking for the venue direct but some bays around the streets, but are hard to get. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and access to public transport a short walk. Overall a good venue. View from balcony shown in photos Band Battle Beast and support BEYOND THE BLACK 15/01/26
