Customer Reviews
Sure! Here's your review fully in English: --- I recently got a new pair of glasses from HKG, and I’m impressed with their craftsmanship. The workmanship was excellent. I have very high myopia, so I was worried my lenses would be thick and heavy, but they did an amazing job making them look thin and feel comfortable. The fit is perfect, and the overall experience was great. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality eyewear!
Optician that understand Chinese needs, doesn't hard sell, and can speak flawless British English as well as Cantonese, and also in the process of applying for customer's NHS support (so children can use their NHS vouchers towards their glasses), on top of that, have a large collection of Asian Fit glasses (from Japan imports and Ray-Ban, to a wide range of unbranded Titanium light weight frames), I'm really glad that our hunt for the perfect optician is over! We have been trying different opticians for years, and they either just want to sell us unnecessary products, lack frames suitable for East Asian fitting or lack the knowledge of our heritage that affects our eye issues. Found out that there is a Chinese optician just above Manchester Wing Yip (next to the Chinese accessory shop too), we went in to ask for second opinion and look for Asian Fit glasses, and my son now have - a pair of new Titanium light weight glasses, - minus the Stellest lenses that a high street optician was hard selling to us that would have done the absolute minimum for his eyes (really appreciate the optician and manager's advice to not take the lenses as it's not what my son's eyes need, even though the store themselves also offer the same Stellest lenses - it slows down short-sightedness but does not help with astigmatism), - with a quick eye test to check that the prescription done by a high street optician intern was correct (they kindly fitted us in between appointments) - and my daughter's frame fixed out of kindness as well (fitted by another high street optician that did not adjust her frame after fitting new lenses in) I will also be booking my own eye test (Eye test is about the same price as in other opticians and will be waived if you get a pair of glasses in store) as soon as availabilities are out, for a pair of night time driving glasses to adjust my astigmatism, which I'll be wearing over my contact lenses. When I explained what I needed to the manager, he was very accommodating and said that they can deduct the prescription that's already on my lenses for the driving glasses. We don't live locally in Manchester but it's absolutely worth the travel to go to HKG. Super convenient as well as we can do our Chinese shop top up downstairs too.
