Customer Reviews
quite nice, was recommended to come here by my other friends for the first time and it was a nice experience, asked thoroughly for the prices beforehand obviously, the guy doing it was really patient as i was trying to choose different colours as obviously i didnt know what i wanted, will be coming back, thanks to tony for doing the nails really nice job with great precision so nice!!!
I am not someone who usually leaves reviews, but the behaviour I experienced here was completely unacceptable. This was only the second time I have ever visited this salon, and both experiences were extremely poor. On my first visit, I clearly told staff before starting that I had to leave at a specific time for work. I was reassured they would finish on time, yet they finished over 30 minutes late, making me late for work. Three different people worked on my nails, which felt very disorganised. I showed a simple nail art design at the beginning and was told it could be done, only for another technician later to be rude and condescending and say they did not have the correct colour. This was frustrating, as I had already been told it was possible. The nail art did not match the design I showed, but due to the constant rushing and staff speaking to each other in their own language, which made me extremely uncomfortable, I decided not to argue further. When I later returned to finish the nails, I was suddenly told I would be charged extra per finger, despite agreeing on the price at the start. When I questioned this, the response was rude, so I decided not to proceed. Despite this, I returned again purely for convenience, otherwise I would have gone to my usual salon where I have never had issues or been overcharged. I asked for a very simple service, a BIAB set with cat eye and no nail art. During the service, the technician hurt my finger with the drill. She apologised and I was understanding, as mistakes can happen. I then politely asked to see two shades so I could choose the one that suited my skin tone. This was met with visible annoyance. After finishing, I noticed that on some nails the product had not been applied properly at the edges. I calmly went back to explain, but due to the language barrier, the technician did not seem to understand and began filing the sides instead. When I tried to clarify, she responded sharply and asked what I wanted her to do. I explained that I simply wanted the missing area covered. At this point, a male staff member stood up, came over, and spoke to me loudly in front of other customers. While standing over me, he was gesturing at me as he spoke. After I showed him the issue, he said they would redo the nail but told me I should not return again. I was shocked and explained that I was paying £45 and simply expected the service to be done properly. He told me I was very picky and asked for too many things, and then falsely claimed that I had been told not to return previously, which is untrue. If anyone had ever said that to me, I would never have come back. The nail that was redone was noticeably darker in shade than the rest, but at that point I felt so uncomfortable that I did not say anything and just wanted to leave. He then walked away muttering an expletive and continued speaking about me to his colleagues in their language. This all happened in front of other customers. I felt humiliated and extremely uncomfortable. I was also told there would be an extra charge for paying by card, so I had to pay cash. This is not a place where you can relax or feel respected. The customer service is dismissive and confrontational. Asking reasonable questions or expecting nails to be done properly is treated as a problem. Stations did not appear clean, and tools did not appear to be properly sanitised. I have read other negative reviews and noticed that Ivy Nails often responds defensively, so I expect a similar response here. That does not change what happened. There are many welcoming, professional, and cheaper nail salons in Manchester. I strongly recommend avoiding this one.
I went to get french tips here for the first time on the 5th of August and i must say i was disappointed, not only was the service bad as i sat there for 30+ minutes before someone actually looked my way and came to check what i wanted but the man doing my nails was rushing and talking to someone else the whole time and didn’t even ask what shape i wanted so the whole thing felt very rushed and the workers were hardly friendly. The nails started lifting about 5 days after and now almost 2 weeks after i can fully lift them, i would not come back there or recommend it to anyone as it was a waste of time and money. You can get better service and nails for £38 somewhere else.
