The sound of the cascading water creates a calming atmosphere, and the spray from the falls adds to the immersive experience. Situated in a quiet area, it provides a peaceful escape from the urban environment. The site is accessible and easy to locate, often heard before it is seen. The Niagara of the North When visiting ‘up North’ you cannot miss the opportunity to do a detour and spend time at this truly special place. The atmosphere is sublime the sound of the rushing water is soothing to the soul. Once experienced the uniqueness of this place you’ll return many many times. I would recommend to visit it during the rainy season as then the stream is fuller with more water. Luckily Manchester is blessed with 11+ rainy months so plenty of time to see this natural wonder in its full beauty.

10/10. Greatest waterfall I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen the Niagara falls! I went canoeing in November, it’s better in the off season to avoid all the tourists. Genuinely don’t pass up on this!

Manchester is globally renowned for its natural beauty. These breathtaking falls are testament to that. The feeling of the spray on your skin will change you forever! Very easy to find as you can hear them roar from hundreds of yards away. On the day we went, not only did we witness the most beautiful rainbows we’ve ever seen, we also saw a couple propose by the plunge pool 🥹 Sadly, the falls have become victim to their own success. We suggest getting there VERY early to beat the crowds. Parking was also crazy (£5 for just 1h, £15 all day!) Overall, a memorable day out that defied expectations ✨
