About
A late-night venue with DJs playing into the early hours, The MCR Lounge hosts parties and events. Entry sometimes involves wristbands and ID checks. The club has hosted New Year’s celebrations, with some guests returning for repeat visits. Drinks are available, and jackets can be checked at a cloakroom. Deposits are required for certain bookings.
Customer Reviews
I made a reservation for four people at 9pm last night, which required a £60 deposit. When we arrived, a bouncer who works for a different company told us the venue doesn’t open until 10pm. I had no way of knowing this, as the website allowed me to book a table for 9pm. We decided to go to another bar while waiting for the venue to open. When we returned, I showed the bouncer my email confirmation clearly stating a 9pm reservation. He seemed confused and said the booking was wrong and that I shouldn’t have paid the £60 deposit because they don’t open at 9. He took a screenshot of my confirmation to show the manager, but when I asked to speak to the manager myself, I was told he was “too busy.” At this point, my friends and I were left standing outside in the freezing cold and were told to come back at 2am if we wanted to be let in. We eventually gave up and went elsewhere. I received no explanation, no apology, and no accountability from management. I’m now £60 out of pocket for absolutely nothing. Don’t waste your money on this!
Worst bar ive ever been in...We was given a wrist band by somebody nearby and told it was free entry, got to the entrance where they took pictures of our ID, (im sure they have secure and safe servers).. and then patted us down, we walked in to be told £10 each please? I said I have a wrist band its free, to which she said naaa they do nothing... the best I can do is 2 for £15, so we reluctantly paid...we then was charged a pound each as we were forced to hang our jackets up, no receipts... we had to take a picture of our coat hanger.. (cant wait to go back next time and see what random coat I can get with this picture) anyway we got down there at say 10pm Saturday and it was dead....so I got a very overpriced drink and saw an area next to the bar with seats, so I sat down and other people did... and a large gentlemen came upto us and asked us to move as this is a VIP area... I said how do I become a VIP and he just laughed in my face... which was nice, I asked him... so you have to pay to sit down in here? To which he said yes... it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they charged by the piece of toilet roll at this place.... its a con (in my opinion)... overpriced alcohol and jist a dodgy atmosphere.. never going back... but looking at the reviews I csn see others have noticed it too...
