Called in to Waterstones today to get a couple of easy- lighthearted & fun read fiction books for holiday. The girls I spoke to (sorry I didn’t catch their names) were absolutely fantastic and their customer service was 10/10. They are SO knowledgable and knew exactly what I was looking for giving great book recommendations, several of which they had personally read. Thank you very much!

What can I say, I love books, I love Waterstones, it’s a good store. Could do with a bigger romance section.

Upon first thought I wasn’t going to write this review, as I felt I was being silly, but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since so I feel I have to say something. I visited the store yesterday and there was a man on the till who is in a blue T-shirt. I asked him politely if he could check a book was in stock for me, it was and he showed me where it was, but never in my life have I received such a rude attitude and a distain to me asking this question. I went over to the till and he was rushing everybody in front of me and also me in the queue, I hadn’t realised my Waterstones card had expired and he snapped at me about it, I went to login to see if I could get the other card I knew hadn’t expired, and he just stared me down the entire time, I felt so uncomfortable, I ended up not bothering and just went and paid, I don’t understand his rush or his need to be so rude. I don’t know if this will get seen or even get glanced at and that’s completely fine but anyone who sees this please remember that you have no idea how your actions and words can impact someone even if you’ve only come across them for a mere couple of minutes, and remember to be kind.
