Customer Reviews
Great location for Old Trafford and O2 Victoria warehouse. Hotel rooms a little tired, but clean and comfortable bed. We are in the steak restaurant and the food was lovely. A party of 7 and all of us enjoyed the meal. Breakfast this morning was cooked well. Reasonable for £12.50 each. Parking was £5 for the 24 hours, so reasonable compared to some hotels. Rooms a little noisy as on a main road.
I visited Manchester for a United matchday and stayed two nights at this hotel. Something to mention on the positive side: the hotel is within walking distance to the Old Trafford. The building is a nice old historical town hall and the staircase inside makes everything look pretty impressive - until we got to our room. We got a free upgrade to a “Suite”, but the room was nothing like anyone would expect a suite to look like, apart from the room size. There is a noticeable odour of cooking grease since our room was directly above the restaurant, which also led to quite heavy noise around evening to midnight. The carpet floor is in some parts heavily stained and not really inviting to be walked without socks or shoes on - so is the sofa. The room is big, but no love put into the interior design or layout. The bathroom is pretty solid but - no toiletbrush. Pretty self explanatory that this is pretty nasty, especially when not travelling alone. The service is okay, but when asking for an EU to UK plug adapter you’ll get disappointed. Of course, they don’t have to have it - but being nearby one of the internationally most known football clubs, also attracting European Visitors, you could expect something like that. Now onto the part that hurts most - the price. Over 200 pounds the night for this quality is pretty bold. Maybe I am used to German standards, but I don’t see any reasons justifying a price of over 60-70, maybe 80 per night.
Stayed at this hotel after a visit to Coronation Street as not far away. The outside does not do it justice but nice inside the hospitality was top class. All the staff from reception and restaurant were excellent. We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant. The food and service excellent. We had an upgrade to the Trafford Suite, extra large bed and a separate room with settee and TV. The breakfast had plenty of choice and delicious. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for a great stay.
