About

A Lebanese restaurant serving shawarma and other Middle Eastern dishes, with branches in Leeds and now Manchester. Known for its lamb and chicken shawarma, served with Lebanese rice or in wraps with khobez bread. The menu includes falafel, toum (garlic sauce), and rice platters with hummus. Orders are placed via screens for speed. There are meal deals available, including rice and hummus boxes. The flavours are described as traditional, with comparisons made to shawarma from Jordan and London. The Manchester branch has drawn attention for its authenticity and efficiency.

Excellent lunch here. Had a rice platter with chicken with was delicious. Never knew rice could be as tasty as this. Meat as good as have come to expect from Leeds. Really efficient process ordering. Super speedy service….start of order to food arriving in less than 5 minutes. Great experience.

Brand new shawarma spot in Manchester that’s definitely one to try. The food here is incredible and the staff are amazing. The food is so fast and so authentic. An all round amazing place. The new rice and hummus boxes are incredible. The rice was especially amazing - cooked to absolute perfection. The meat is cooked incredibly, so juicy and crispy. The khobez here are amazing, packed full of flavour and absolutely delicious. The falafels are incredible too. Everything is very customisable, so you can order everything tailored to your preference. They also have some great meal deals which would be great for lunch on the go. Seeing its popularity in Leeds, I can only imagine how popular this shawarma bar will be in Manchester. I’m looking forward to coming back for some more delicious food, and seeing how Sqew will thrive in its new location.

Seen sqew in Leeds but never had the opportunity to try but after hearing it open in Manchester near me I thought I’d give it a try. The ordering is pretty straight forward, you use ordering screens rather than ordering at the counter which creates a quicker and smoother process for lunch hour rushes. I ordered the mixed shawarma Khobez which was really flavourful with the sauces I got but I did feel that the wrap itself with the meat inside was too greasy for my liking and I paid around £13 for the wrap itself which I think compared to other similar shawarma and wrap spots is on the dearer side.
