Its proximity to the motorway makes it convenient for quick airport transfers.
Customer Reviews
You get what you pay for. I stayed here for 1 night before a flight out of Manchester and from reading the reviews I wasn’t expecting the Ritz Carlton but wow, I really overestimated my tolerance for roughing it! The smell, what is it?! It smells how I imagine an old abandoned asylum smells, weirdest foisty aroma. The fact that there’s no drinking water available in any of the rooms or even a water fountain on each floor is bizarre. A kettle in the room but you have to supply your own water? Insanity. The bathroom was tiny, I wish I’d bought sliders with me cause whilst it had definitely been cleaned the whole smell thing just made everything feel dirty. Bed was nicely made but found a long black curly hair amongst the sheets. Room was pretty cold. Reception staff were not especially welcoming, but I don’t blame them for being bummed out having to work there! Best thing about it was the nice mini bus driver who got me out of that place and took me to the airport! (Airport shuttle is £10)
I can only guess that the terrible reviews are quite old as the room we stayed in was of a good standard. Comfortable and clean. |The bar is very reasonably priced. Breakfast was ok but it was only £10 so it was fine for the money. |The bus stop to the airport is right outside the hotel so made things a lot easier for us. |We opted for the stay and park option which was unbelievable value for money considering airport parking was £77 alone. |I wouldn't recommend the shuttle bus from the hotel as it was expensive and much cheaper to get an Uber if you're not keen on the public transport option. |Nearby restaurants and bars are walking distance.|Definitely worth a stay if you're going to Manchester airport.
We have just had a 4 night Christmas break at this hotel, I was very apprehensive about what to expect after reading some of the reviews. We had a great time the food was good and plentiful the entertainment was very good, the staff were all very friendly, the rooms were as the pictures showed and the beds were comfortable, we didn’t have housekeeping, but did not expect it as it was over Christmas, but they had left a Christmas bag for us with extras to cover anything we would need for the days we were there, the drinks in the bar were very reasonable prices with bottles of wine at only £8.95. I can truly say that the hotel pulled out all the stops to make our Christmas very good and I would definitely spend Christmas here again as for parking, I cannot make a comment on that as we were on a coach
