About
A café set in a historic railway station, The Station Irlam retains original features and railway memorabilia, including a preserved signal box and carriage. It serves breakfast dishes like full English and pancakes, along with Sunday roasts and light lunches such as fish. Afternoon tea is available, and there’s a selection of beer. The space doubles as a small museum, celebrating the building’s railway heritage while functioning as a café. Bookable booths provide seating, and the setting overlooks the tracks.
Customer Reviews
Great place, with superb decor. Stopped by for breakfast. Great full English and the kids gave the pancakes 5 stars. We happened upon the place, but would definitely plan a visit here again sometime soon. The staff were pleasant; food was really good and appropriately priced.
I went to The Station in Irlam for my birthday meal and it was such a great experience. I had the Sunday roast, which was cooked beautifully — hearty, full of flavour, and served in generous portions. What makes this place really special is the atmosphere: the layout is spacious yet cosy, with furniture that feels inviting, and the décor is full of character. The old station touches — like vintage clocks, phone boxes, and railway-style details — give it a unique charm you won’t find anywhere else. It’s the perfect mix of good food and a setting that really tells a story. A brilliant spot for a special occasion or just a relaxed Sunday meal.
Lovely café on the platform at Irlam station. Beautifully decorated with the old station waiting area vibe.
