I'm saying this with gritted teeth as I wish to gatekeep the best gym in the UK for me. Consistently clean gym, incredible quality gym equipment and phenomenally rare posing room. Regrettably had to leave Manchester (to be closer to my team) but there isn't a day that I do not miss training here. The staff are super friendly and sociable and happy to get to know you on a personal level. Perfect little community of quality individuals which ensures that the user experience is always protected. You definitely get value for your money. You can build a serious physique here.
Best gym I’ve ever been too, lovely staff and owners. Top equipment, posing room and doesn’t get too busy. Been going here for almost a year and genuinely never had to wait for any equipment. Never had any issues with anything or anyone, it truly is a family-vibe, everyone is always happy to see each other. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to take their training seriously! Ps. Mega bonus points for the gym dog😍
Hands down one of the best training spaces I’ve ever been to. The equipment is top-tier and everything is well-maintained, high-quality, and exactly what you’d want in a serious training environment. What really sets it apart is the atmosphere - members and owners all respect the space, put the weights back, and if anything is ever out of place, it gets sorted quickly. There’s a real sense of accountability here, which is rare in most gyms. There’s always something happening - mobility workshops, squat technique sessions, and even rooftop yoga, which just adds to the experience. The resident coaches, like Adam, are incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to help. When I first started training here, I felt like I didn’t belong. I wasn’t as strong as the powerlifters, bodybuilders, or weightlifters around me, and it was intimidating at first. But the truth is, you’d rather be a small fish in a pond with big fish than the biggest fish in a small pond. Being surrounded by people who were stronger and more experienced pushed me to level up. Over the past year, I’ve built so much muscle and seen massive improvements - not just physically, but in my confidence and mindset too. I’ve trained at various commercial gyms before, and the difference is night and day. At Federation, you’re not just paying for access to machines but you’re investing in an environment that actually supports your progress. The monthly membership is around £60, and a day pass is £10-£15, but honestly, it’s worth every penny. Health is wealth, and if someone can’t justify the price, there’s always PureGym… where you can experience the true pain of dodging dumbbells left on the floor and fighting for a working machine. Beyond the training space, they have on-site physio, which is a game-changer for recovery and injury prevention. They also have a posing room fully equipped with mirrors, so if you're into bodybuilding or prepping for a competition, there’s actually a dedicated space to refine your posing. Plenty of lockers too, so you don’t have to worry about storage. And if you ever need a quick snack or post-workout fuel, they’ve got you covered. They sell different types of protein bars ( Barbells Marshmallow is my new fav) and have meal prep available, so whatever you might need, it’s there. They also stock BCAA drinks, pre-workout and other supplements, making it super convenient if you ever forget something at home or need an extra boost before training. Oh, and one more thing - if you’re lucky, you might get to meet Archer, the cutest gym dog. Just another reason why this place feels like home. The only small downside? There aren’t separate changing rooms. But honestly, it’s a minor thing compared to everything else this place offers. More than just a gym, Federation has been my therapy. It has saved me and changed my life forever. It’s the kind of place that pushes you to be better, not just physically but in every aspect of life. If you want a gym where you feel welcome, supported, and surrounded by people who actually care about their training (and the space they train in), Federation Gym is the place to be. Couldn’t recommend it moooooore.
