A great place to spend a cosy afternoon playing boardgames. My partner and I were amazed by the choice of games, suitable for everyone from adults to little ones. Lovely coffee too, with oat milk available. I've also purchased books here a couple of times and the owner is always friendly and helpful. A real independent gem!

We came here for my birthday as we knew our 5 year old would love it as well as us. It’s quiet and small, just as we like it as noise gets us too overwhelmed in the bigger ones. We had a fab time. Lovely staff on board to help us play if we needed. Highly recommend this place and we are going back for my son’s birthday in a few weeks. Thank you so much for our fantastic first time experience!

Urmston Books and Board games you are exactly what we LOVE about Urmston. Creating a joy of print and off screen play, we love the quiet buzz of nostalgia in the board game cafe. Independent and family run, my children are ALWAYS delighted at the idea of visiting your bookshop and to play such a vast array of high quality board games. As a vegan family we are always so well catered for with cakes and dairy free milks. We’ve swapped to buying our gifts for children’s parties from here to support independent and they’ve always been so greatly received. We’ve hired your space as a birthday party, attended your classes and want to send a massive high five for the sheer joy you’ve created locally - my children want to read more and it’s all because of your valuable work, Thank you!
