Customer Reviews
I’ve been coming here for a while now. I have to say it’s adorable! It’s an obviously very gay club with many gay characters but the clientele are mixed with straight people partying with the gays. There is clearly mutual respect and banter in this welcoming environment. The door staff treat some of us regularly like family and it is great fun. The bar staff clear enjoying their role and you can often see them partying here on their time off
Came in on Saturday evening for a ticketed event and paid £50 for a show downstairs. Came in with a coat. Before we went to leave we could not see the coat. Looked around. Asked the bar staff if they had seen it. Rang the next day fully expecting it to have been handed in or found as it was on a side near where we were stood. We were told that it wasn't there and not to bother ringing again as it hadn't been handed in. The jacket was pretty expensive and now looks to have been stolen at their ticketed event. Didn't leave with a great feeling. Messaged twice about it and had no response either. EDIT.. Can't reply so editing. We called on Sunday (the night after the ticketed event downstairs). 3.05pm and were told that it wasn't there. I asked if I could call back later in the week. I was told that there was no point. It was a Paul Smith Black padded jacket. Thank you
If you want to be physically assaulted - Brewers is the place for you! I went here on Saturday night, I live in Manchester, and I’m part of the LGBTQ+ community, probably go on a night out in gay village once a month, and I’ve been to different places here for so many years, but never have I been grabbed and physically removed from a bar in my life, until the weekend just gone. I was waiting for a friend towards the exit of the under part of Brewers, when the man grabbed my arm for no reason whatsoever and started pulling me up the stairs for me to leave (I was essentially about to leave anyway!). My younger sister saw this and was walking behind us telling the man to let go of my arm, and when she tried to take a video he smacked the phone out of her hand onto the floor. She managed to grab it in time to get a picture of the back of his head as he walked back down the steps. I called after him to come back up and to please explain why he just did what he did, but he disappeared and didn’t come back up despite us waiting for an answer outside for around half an hour. I spoke to two other doormen, before speaking to the manager, who seemed lovely, but he said he would review footage and get back to me on Tuesday the following week. He never did. I was also told repeatedly “he’s our best man” (speaking about the bouncer) and I kept my calm the entire time. They have all the footage, all the wrong-doing, how calm I was, and I even typed their contact details (including intricate email addresses) into my phone - they seemed surprised, but I’m assuming this man won’t be held accountable, and now I feel like this will have to be a place I avoid in future.
