Visitors often mention the friendly atmosphere and chance to chat with both staff and other customers. The pub has been described as a cosy addition to the area, where people drop in for a quick pint or stay longer to enjoy the craic. Customer Reviews
To be fair, I came in on a Friday lunchtime when no one else was in the pub. The Guinness was great, but what ruined it for me was that the barman proceeded to watch videos and play music on his own phone - instead of chatting to me (the only drinker in the pub) or respecting the fact that music was already playing through the main speakers, which I was enjoying. Hard to listen to two noises at once and it’s just plain rude. I’ve ran bars myself and there are always jobs to do. Bartenders should not be on phones when people are in pubs, whether it’s one person or 100. Kids (he was young) these days don’t seem to have any social awareness like that. What a shame, as I’d heard good things about this place.
Been in a couple of times now with my wife and my dog, Sam. Each time we’ve had a warm welcome from the staff. Lovey pint of Guinness and a cosy environment to enjoy it in. Without asking we’ve been brought dog bowls and Sam has been fussed. Proper lovely stuff. The sort of place you plan to go in for 1 drink and stay for more because it’s a great experience.
During a layover waiting for a flight myself and 5 other friends had an extremely pleasant experience. We thought the same of the pub - quite peaceful cosy atmosphere, great Guinness, service and music taste. If flying out of Manchester again myself and my friends will most certainly visit again to enjoy pints the way they are supposed to be drank! No screens, sensory overload just a nice setting and good company - perfect
